Before entering a school building, students and staff can access the self-certification survey conveniently from their mobile phones. This survey asks health-related questions to help pinpoint anyone who might have symptoms. For younger children, parents can fill out the survey for them prior to them arriving.
Self-certification surveys are an easy option for schools to adapt to help prevent spread of infection. With a self-certified survey, relevant staff can be fully aware of symptoms someone may have and determine if that person should be sent home.
Right before entering the school, contactless temperature screenings are an effective way to detect high body temperatures of students and staff. Temperatures can be read through a variety of devices, such as the thermal scanners or touchless thermometers. Integrating in badge scanners can tie health information directly to a student's profile. Just scan the barcode on their badge or phone before checking their temperature.
If a normal temperature is detected, the student or staff member can enter the building. If the thermometer detects an elevated temperature, that person would be asked to return home for remote learning.
If an elevated temperature is detected, the necessary teachers and/or staff are alerted in real time so they are aware of which students are unable to attend class in person. Alerts can be sent to mobile phones and other devices.
Within the all-encompassing dashboard, temperature reports will be updated in real time, so faculty can review the status of students each day. To further advance the health and safety of the school environment, integrating contact tracing with computer vision can help staff identify anyone in the building who may have been in contact with an at-risk student with symptoms.
