Employee Spotlight Chicago: Bari Pritchett, Recruiting Lead

Written by Kasey T | Jan 6, 2021 3:06:06 PM

This month's spotlight features Bari Pritchett, someone everyone in the V-Soft family can count on for a laugh! Bari is a Recruiting Lead based out of our Chicago office and is known not only for her daily morning memes and quick wit, but also her high performance as an IT Recruiter. To start off 2021, we got to know a little bit more about Bari's family and hobbies outside of the office.

Describe Your Role at V-Soft

I am a Recruiting Lead out of Chicago but I work remotely out of my home office. My job consists of sending memes out in the morning (LOL), sourcing and recruiting for IT-related positions, partnering with sales and customers on intake calls, and rating proposals when needed. I'm proud to have made President's Club every year for my performance as a top recruiter for V-Soft.

Any Interesting Stories in Your Line of Work?

The most interesting thing about my job are the excuses that candidates come up with when they miss their interview. My favorite was before V-Soft when I first started in recruiting. A temp on her way to her gig said she couldnt make it because a porta potty fell on her. Another one is when a candidate missed his interview and couldnt call me because the car accident he got into made his cell phone fly out the window. I saved the best for last, though - "I got bit by a rat."

What Do You Enjoy Doing in Your Free Time?

I love to cook, travel and have been performing stand-up comedy and improv all my life. I'm pretty much a jokester. I started stand-up in college going to Second City’s improv for the blue light special so I could get in for free and get on stage. Then I would just do open mic nights around town.

My favorite place to travel is Negril, Jamaica. My family and I try to go every year but COVID put a damper on that. We also own an RV which we use when we go to national parks because we can take the dog. We've been to Glacier National Park and Zion recently.

Bari's husband, Bret, and son, Seth, at Zion National Park. Bari's dog chilling in the RV and a sunset photo in Jamaica.

What’s a Fun Fact About Yourself?

I have a YouTube channel called the Jewish Sista where I cook non-kosher items. So far I have three videos uploaded but nothing recently because my video editor, my son Seth, decided that playing online games with his friends was more important. I think the most popular video was where I made broccoli and cheese stuffed crescents with Seth and someone in the UK made it!

What is Your Favorite Thing to Do in Chicago?

Since COVID, I haven't been able to do anything in Chicago! I live in the burbs and used to go to The Arcada to watch bands. I also enjoy going to Seths soccer games and hiking with the dog in the park.
