Cosette Bergin has worked for V-Soft for 2 years as a Sales and Recruiting Coordinator and has had her hand in many different projects working with family members all over the U.S.  Learn more about Cosette's experiences and where she wants to go in her career as well as some surprising facts!

Describe Your Role at V-Soft

I've been with V-Soft for almost 2 years! I started March 2017 in an admin role because that’s when Palace Gate started the merge with V-Soft.  They hired me on because we were swamped- back then they only had 2 team members exclusively helping with recruiting/operations so at first, I was just working on posting jobs and assisting the recruiters and onboarding process. When we merged with V-Soft I also helped on the backend of that, working to organize SharePoint for recruiting and sales.

After a while my role expanded into a couple different departments. I still do a lot with recruiting like editing and publishing job descriptions for Chicago and Madison but now I also manage job boards on LinkedIn, Monster, and Career builder and I help a little bit with the Denver office. I also support sales now. I'm getting more involved with marketing events the sales team can go to or the company can sponsor.

Overall, I really enjoy my position because I work with different sides of things and I get to interact with a lot more of our employees.

What Were Some Things You Noticed After the Merge?

Obviously the expansion- it was really cool to meet new faces and the merge helped structure wise. I like how we have different departments and teams-I can contact the contract team directly or the marketing team when I need something specific.  It's also cool to work for a company that is so heavily involved in philanthropy. I went to the charity Golf scramble two years ago and it was fun to meet people and volunteer for a great cause.

What do You Consider a Fulfilling Work Day?

I create to-do lists most days. I will have a daily and weekly to-do list and when I complete them or if I'm able to check off tasks that are on my long-term list, that’s a win!

Where do You See Yourself in Five Years?

Career-wise I figure out what I want to do based off my professional experiences. Every time I work on different jobs or gain more responsibilities it's easier for me to scope out my future because I can decide once I work on a project what I enjoy or what really wasn't my favorite. I just want to be in the right career slot.

What do You Like to do in Your Free Time?

I love to see plays and musicals! Growing up in Chicago they are very accessible, and my parents are theatre majors. I was even named after Cosette from Les Misérables. I didn't do theatre myself, but I've always enjoyed it. My favorite acts so far are Hamilton, Wicked, and Les Misérables.

I also enjoy trying different work out classes. I have a gym membership but also use ClassPass to try different types of workouts like Soul Cycle and Core Power Yoga. My favorite is SWEAT strength cardio.

What is a Fun Fact About Yourself?

For 2 years now, I have been the assistant cheer-leading coach at the grade school I went to. I coach 6th through 8th grade girls. It's a nice way to give back to the school I went to and to have a leadership role.
