Employee Spotlight Harrisburg: Mohammad Husain

Written by Mariah McCrea | Feb 7, 2019 2:59:52 PM

This month we are putting the spotlight on Mohammad Husain. Mohammad is a Senior Technical Recruiter based out of our Harrisburg, PA office and became part of our V-Soft family during the MDT Technical merge in 2017. We took a moment to catch up with Mohammad, learn more about him, his values and the little lady that “rules his life”.

What Were Some Things You Noticed After the Merge?

During the MDT Technical and V-Soft consulting merge, I was impressed by how seamless the process was. What would have been mountains to climb for accommodation, were barely even road bumps. I appreciate being able to ease into the transition without too many changes being made overnight.

What is the best thing about V-Soft?

As cliché as it can sound, the little things truly do matter. The autonomy to plan my day and not be micro-managed is a big deal. We have a large company feel but still maintain a small company environment where everyone is accessible. It’s amazing to work with folks in other offices who I’ve never met but feel like I’ve known for years.

What do You Consider a Fulfilling Work Day?

My role as a Senior Technical Recruiter can be hands-on and personal at times. I enjoy getting to know my candidates and not just treating our relationships as a business transaction. Communication matters and having even a couple of meaningful conversations with candidates who I can market now and in the future is a win in my book.

What do You Like to do in Your Free Time?

I enjoy the outdoors and love fly fishing and fly tying. I’m a huge St. Louis Cardinals fan and might be one of the few people who actually enjoy watching baseball on TV. My girlfriend and I rescued a Shih Tzu a couple years ago and as much as I’d like to deny it – she pretty much rules our lives.

What is a Fun Fact About Yourself?

I’ve spent the last year and a half focused on my health and have lost 90 pounds to date! I also competed in my first 10k this past fall, and now actually look forward to hitting the gym everyday. I plan to train for and finish a half marathon soon!
