Lisa Hintz and her husbandLisa Hintz is V-Soft’s HR Manager (direct), based in our Madison, Wisconsin office. This month we chose to highlight her, asking her to share what it is that brought her to V-Soft as well as learning more about her. One thing that we see that she excels in: She takes her job seriously!

What brought you to V-Soft?

Well, technically we were acquired (laughs). But I worked with the original founders of Safe Bridge Solutions – Colleen, Dan, and Gary – at another company. They left to create their own company from there, wanting to do things with more of a “people first” approach, like our People First motto. I couldn’t follow after them right away, as they had to get the business off the ground. But exactly a year after they started the company, I was able to join them in an HR role to create their HR department, and I’ve been with them ever since.

What do you consider a fulfilling work day?

Making people happy. Doing things for other people. So, going back to the People First motto, when I can make a difference in somebody’s day, or their job, that’s a fulfilling day for me. I can process paperwork and all the HR related functions, but at the end of the day if I’m not improving on somebody else’s job or day, then I haven’t done my job. So when I get the emails from consultants and employees that say, “Oh thank you so much, I can’t believe the quick turnaround on this,” I know that I’ve made a difference.

Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

Working for V-Soft, hopefully! (Laughs) As V-Soft continues to grow, I would like to see myself in more of an operational role. Title isn’t what I’m after, it’s more so job function. Coming from a small company, I’ve been a one-person HR team. Now that we’re part of V-Soft, I look forward to working closely with the executive team to grow V-Soft’s HR department and continue our People First motto.

What do you like to do in your free time?

Well, obviously, spending time with my family! I love going to my kids’ concerts. My daughter plays the violin and is in the Wisconsin Youth Symphony Orchestra, and my son plays the trombone in band. I enjoy attending all of my kids’ extracurricular activities: concerts, baseball games, and bowling tournaments -- they all keep my husband and me busy.

In terms of hobbies, I like to shop. Clothes, shoes, and purses! My husband and I have a past-time of going bowling together, and spending time with family and friends is always great. I also like to scrapbook.

I like to travel and plan family vacations. We have a condo in Sevierville, Tennessee that we love to go to. We love going down to Tennessee and hiking in the Smokies, especially in October. It’s absolutely beautiful that time of year.

Do you have a fun fact about yourself?

Oh, goodness. Here’s one: I’ve been with my husband since high school! We were high school sweethearts. We’ve been married 18 years, and were together 8 years before we got married. We even went to college together. On August 23rd he asked me out on our first date to see the movie Ghost, and then went to Pizza Hut. To keep that date, we got married on August 23rd. To add to that, he proposed to me on August 23rd, too!
