Employee Spotlight, Louisville: Bree Heightchew - Marketing Assistant

Written by Bree H | Feb 2, 2023 5:31:00 PM

This month we are spotlighting Marketing Assistant, Bree Heightchew. Bree has been with V-Soft for nearly a year and already has made a huge impact. Recently, she has been taking on a new role as the Events Coordinator. Her bright personality and go-getter attitude are two of the biggest reasons why Bree is an excellent addition to our V-Soft family!

What Brought You to V-Soft and What is Your Experience In?

Bree and many of our Louisville Family at the 2022 Louisville Corporate Games.

Before V-Soft, I was working in Planning and Development and as a photographer. I had recently completed my degree in Public Relations and Journalism and was looking for something more in my field.

I had done a lot of marketing and event planning for a local theatre and knew that was where my heart was. That was when I found V-Soft! I'm so grateful to have joined such a fun and amazing team!

Any Interesting Stories in Your Line of Work?

Bree at the Cliffs of Moher with friends, Jack and Shannon.

With photography specifically, I get the opportunity to meet so many incredible people, all with their own unique stories. Recently, I traveled to Ireland to celebrate the new year and that's where I met Jack and Shannon.

Jack found out that I was a photographer (and that I specialized in couples and engagements) and jumped at the chance. Thanks to his coordination, I was able to photograph him proposing to his girlfriend, Shannon at the Cliffs of Moher.

It looked and felt like an absolute fairytale, and it was an experience I will never forget!

What Do You Enjoy Doing in Your Free Time?

Bree performing as Rusty in Footloose, hiking at Torc Waterfall in Killarney, Ireland, and hiking Grouse Mountain in Vancouver, BC.

In my free time, I enjoy anything related to music. I grew up in a very musical family and have been going to concerts and theatre productions (or being in them) from a very young age. I think the coolest experience I've gotten from that so far was singing in Whitney Hall at the Kentucky Performing Arts Center.

And, of course, any chance I get, I'm traveling. Most recently I have traveled the loop of Ireland's most iconic cities and, my favorite destination, British Columbia, Canada - somewhere I recommend to everyone!

What's a Fun Fact About Yourself?

Bree holding her film award, at her film premiere, on set, and on the big screen!

I wrote and directed my own short film that got to play on the big screen and am a (small time) award-winning director!

Any Favorite Things to Do in Louisville?

Bree exploring city rooftops with her friends and her brother.

I love exploring the city and finding new fun architecture and city views. I love getting to find cool new perspectives, especially from the parking garages in the city, of all places. I think Louisville is beautiful, in general, but my favorite point-of-view is from a rooftop!
