Employee Spotlight: Hannah Johnson, Business Development Manager

Written by Bree H | Jul 7, 2022 1:10:45 PM

This month we are spotlighting Hannah Johnson, a recent success story to our Associate Recruiting Program. Hannah came to us after graduating college and learned the ropes of IT recruiting. With her go-getter attitude and success on the team, she was quickly ready to take on more responsibility and was recently promoted to Business Development Manager. We sat down with Hannah to learn more about her experience with V-Soft so far and how she enjoys her free time.

What Brought You to V-Soft and What is Your Experience?

While my career history is short, it has been full of growth – both professional and personal. I am a First-Generation college graduate, with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration and a minor in Psychology. I completed my degree in December of 2021 at a tiny school in Philippi, West Virginia. I also spent 10 years of my life playing volleyball and was fortunate enough to play in college – which is what led me to West Virginia for 3.5 years.

To be completely transparent, I had no idea what I wanted to do with my career after I graduated, but then Latoya Barber (Corporate Recruiter for V-Soft) called me. She recruited me and somehow convinced me to interview for a spot in the new class of Associate Recruiters. I rolled with it. Fast forward 7 months later, I’m here and I’ve talked to hundreds of different people from all across the globe. I’ve heard so many stories and have met so many great people. I work with an amazing team and learn new things every day. Most importantly, I partner with people who believe in me, and we believe in each other.

Any Interesting Stories in Your Line of Work?

With this being the start of my career, I thought it was super fun to have a company-wide fundraiser in the form of a golf scramble for V-Soft Cares! This was such a great way to interact with my peers outside of the office and get to meet other V-Soft Family members from across the country as well! I got lost on the course many times, but we had a blast while doing it. All while raising money for a great cause.

What Do You Enjoy Doing in Your Free Time?

I enjoy spending my free time with my cat – Tito. She is 2 years old, and a former barn cat turned professional office kitty. She loves playing with paper clips, rubber bands, erasers, and especially attempting to fight the printer while it’s printing. Her biggest dream in life is to become an ambassador for Tito’s, accompanied by an endless supply of squeezable cat treats.

I also love to travel when I get the chance. I love to go hiking in the mountains and spend time at the beach. I enjoy going out and doing things with my family – we recently saw Hamilton and it was ah-mazing

What's a Fun Fact About Yourself?

One of my favorite things to do, is drive. Maybe not so much right now with these gas prices, but ever since I was able to legally get behind the wheel, I’ve been the one driving. I especially love driving into sunsets. Call it corny, but sunsets are a good reminder that even bad days have beautiful endings. A good drive is one with good music, windows down, and no traffic.

Any Favorite Things to Do in Louisville?

I love trying all of the different foods that this city has to offer. My favorites are the pizza at Impellizzeri’s and the Ruby Roll at Jeff Ruby’s. The Ruby Roll is a very rare treat, and while the first and last time I had it was in February, I’ve thought about it every day since then. It was truly a 10/10. I also love tacos, any form of potato, and some good banana pudding.
