Here we get the inside scoop from Sally Martin, V-Soft's Director of the Chicago market. Sally was the president and owner of Palace Gate Corporation until it merged with V-Soft in 2016. Every month we highlight a member of our family, and this month we chose to highlight Sally, asking her to share what a work day for her is like learning more about a day in her life. Sally is a new member of the V-Soft family but already she is helping us soar to new heights.
My experience is in selling and running a Chicago based IT Staffing firm. I founded and am president of Palace Gate Corporation, which has recently merged into V-Soft Consulting.
Purna (V-Soft President) and Phil (V-Soft Corporate Counsel) contacted us (my husband James and I own Palace Gate) and it seemed like a great opportunity to help V-Soft grow through our relationships here in Chicago. Even better was the chance to bring more to our Chicago family of employees, candidates, and customers.
What I enjoy most is working alongside a happy and energetic team while we're putting as many people to work as possible in jobs we hope they love. If I am helping as many people find [job] opportunities as possible and filling the needs of our clients there is nothing I'd rather be doing.
In five years I would like to be continuing to help V-Soft grow. The opportunity within the Chicago market is something we've hardly begun to tap into. With V-Soft's expanded services beyond staffing including IT solutions of ServiceNow, MuleSoft, Mobile Enterprise Development, Big Data Analytics, and more there are few limits to how we can help Chicago businesses transform their industries.
The people. And the fact that it’s better than what I expected — I had high expectations but those expectations have been exceeded. The people are fantastic. When Purna speaks of People First he isn't kidding. Our focus is doing great things for our employees, candidates, and the customers we serve.
I really enjoy getting out and doing some mountain biking. Yoga is something I enjoy every chance I can and all types of reading from business to good fiction keep me busy at home.
I grew up riding dirt bikes and motorcycles, I think that’s fun. Not a lot of people expect that. Dirt bikes, motorcycles, mountain biking, snowmobiles, and jet skis all make for a good weekend for me.

Chicago based Palace Gate Corporation began in 2006 from a humble dining room table with a laptop, telephone and a Windows server. Armed with a breadth of knowledge obtained through years of previous experience working in the IT recruiting field, Sally, along with her husband James, have led the company into an 80-employee company working out of expanded offices in Skokie, IL. In 2016, Palace Gate became a part of V-Soft Consulting through a merger that will bring more to Chicago business and help transform the clients they serve.
