The V-Soft Tech Exec Forum: Think Before Diving into Mobile App Project

Written by V-Soft Consulting Group, Inc. | Apr 20, 2012 2:53:15 PM

I recently had the pleasure of hosting our Tech Exec Forum at the Hyatt Regency in Louisville, KY. This first in a series of Tech Exec Forum’s provided an excellent setting for sharing cutting-edge industry news and tips, and it also gave us an opportunity to introduce our refreshed branding, the “new” V-Soft:

“V-Soft is a game-changing IT business solutions and staffing firm. Game-changing because we have constructed a model that infuses supply chain excellence across our approach. This approach starts with a unique, highly refined insight-gathering process. It results in a clear understanding of business needs and technology goals from our clients’ perspective. That allows us to hit the ground running with solutions that deliver game-changing value.”

Our new brand re-launch includes a new logo and soon-to-be-released website. With the new logo, we represent forward movement and velocity, with an “O” representing our global presence and blending of cultures to form the whole V-Soft.

After our eager announcement, the Tech Exec Forum was then given to the capable hands of our speaker, Jonathan Erwin, CEO of Red e App Mobile Communication. After more than 20 years in strategic sales, marketing and executive roles within the technology marketplace, Jonathan applied his experiences, vision and dedication to service and thoughtful b2b and b2c communication. The result: Red e App, an incredibly successful mobile communication platform.

Jonathan’s presentation centered on several buzzworthy topics in mobile app development and how they are impacting tech professionals and businesses, including security/privacy/compliance and data collection (social/silo/BYOD). He identified key barriers to successful mobile development, and some of the mistakes businesses are making as they scramble to “go mobile.”

In his engaging and informative presentation, Jonathan also shared compelling data to illustrate the emergence and staying power of mobile technology. The following list shows technologies and the length of time they took to reach 50 million users:

  • Print material – 100 years
  • Radio – 38 years
  • Television – 13 years
  • Internet – 4 years
  • iPod – 3 years
  • iPhone – 2 years, 9 months
  • iPad – less than 2 years
  • Zynga’s “Draw Something” app – 50 days

Pretty amazing, isn’t it?

During his Q&A session, Jonathan provided key insights and answers to mobile development questions from within the audience. Topics ranged from the necessity of mobile app development in every industry (or lack thereof) to providing help for companies asking how to “go mobile.”

With a range of compelling data, personal anecdotes and expertise, Jonathan’s presentation at the V-Soft Tech Exec Forum offered incredible insight and help to professionals and businesses looking for clarity in the cluttered mobile development landscape. If the audience–which consisted of CIOs, independent software vendors, management consultants and entrepreneurs–could take a single insight from Jonathan’s presentation, it would be this:

Proper planning and research prior to mobile app development is critical to protecting your investment and hitting the mark.

The entire V-Soft team would like to thank Jonathan Erwin, and all the attendees, for participating in this edition of the Tech Exec Forum. And stay tuned for the upcoming launch of our new website and for the next Tech Exec Forum!
