This month's spotlight is all about someone we're seeing a lot more of lately! Brianna Kolder, V-Soft's Corporate Project & Event Coordinator, has been taking on a new role lately as the host of V-Soft's virtual events as we all pivot to digital content. V-Soft employees see her every week when she hosts internal weekly happy hours, and our clients and the public have seen Brianna host Virtual30, a weekly webinar series showcasing how technologies can help businesses during today's climate.
How long have you worked for V-Soft? Describe your role and how it has changed since quarantine.
I’ve worked at V-Soft for three and a half years now. I started off as the Sales & Recruiting Coordinator and helped with all our job postings, job board accounts, etc., then moved over to the Marketing Department 1 year ago as the Corporate Project & Event Coordinator. I love my role! I get to plan events for all markets throughout the company and co-chair our V-Soft Cares charity golf scramble. I also help V-Soft earn recognitions and awards by keeping track of deadlines and submitting nominations, applications and surveys. It’s exciting when V-Soft earns an award we haven’t before or haven’t in a while!
Since quarantine, events have obviously been impacted heavily. We’ve moved everything to digital and I’m now the host for a live virtual weekly series known as Virtual30 and I host a weekly V-Soft happy hour for employees. I’ve also started helping out with our digital content like writing blogs and working on social media.
What do you consider a fulfilling work day?
I think anyone in the Marketing Department can attest that a fulfilling work day is when we can officially cross something off the long to-do list we collectively have. When some collateral piece or video goes live, when an event successfully finishes, when a go-to-market strategy gets sent out and completed – that’s when you know we are moving forward. I’m lucky to have such a supportive and collaborative team that we can share in each other’s accomplishments when things get done. It’s a sense of relief and satisfaction to have those fulfilling days!
What is your favorite thing about V-Soft/your role?
My absolute favorite thing about V-Soft is the company culture. Since I started at the company, I’ve helped with planning our quarterly team building events and have always thought it was so awesome to be at a company that encourages these outings each quarter as a chance to interact with coworkers you might not always get a chance to hang out with. It’s so refreshing! And we’ve had so much fun doing multiple events – go-karting, painting classes, scavenger hunts, axe throwing and so much more. Regarding my role, my favorite thing is definitely my team. I couldn’t do half the things I do without them! Every time an event successfully finishes, I know I couldn’t have done it without the support and efforts of the entire marketing team and a boss that encourages me and pushes me to grow every day.
What do you like to do in your free time?
I love working out at Burn Boot Camp and have been a member there for over 2 years now. You can catch me there 5-6 days a week. Since quarantine, they’ve gone to virtual workouts and I haven’t missed a single one! I also love painting (canvases and wine glasses) and am a big Netflix watcher. Outside of quarantine, my boyfriend Jon and I are usually always out doing something – going to movies, comedy shows, restaurants, bars, concerts — you name it!
What's a fun fact about yourself?
I’m definitely not a solo singer, but I sang in choir for 12 years. From 5th grade until my senior year of college at UK, I performed in multiple concerts and had a blast doing it. My final concerts I performed in were actually in Spain. Right after graduating college I went on a 10-day international trip with the UK choir and we got to perform in cathedrals all across Spain and collaborated with a couple Spanish choirs. It was a once-in-a-lifetime experience!
