This month's spotlight features Trey Rice, a recent addition to the V-Soft Family and the company's Global Director of Recruiting. Trey has been a key player in working with recruiters across North America and India to help strategize and grow the company's IT staffing division. We got to know Trey a little more recently - what his role entails and how he likes to spend his free time with his wife and son.
Describe Your Role at V-Soft
I’m the Global Director of Recruiting at V-Soft. My role is focused on running our recruiting teams in the U.S. and Canada, as well as helping to support our India operation. My team of recruiters is tasked with supporting our clients and salespeople by sourcing amazing talent for the open opportunities we are trying to fill.

Any Interesting Stories in Your Line of work?
Our line of work is solely focused on working with people, so as you can imagine, there are a number of stories that stick out. I’ll use a story from very recently. We are currently supporting a client and were struggling with finding the right talent for them. We had several interviews where the client indicated we were missing the mark consistently. We gathered our support team and talked through the issues we were running into and formulated a new plan on how to screen candidates before implementing it. Since that time, we have filled 7 positions and have become our client’s vendor of choice! It goes to show that if you are persistent and take a step back to solve an issue, you can really change things rapidly for the better.
What Do You Enjoy Doing in Your Free Time?
I love spending time with my wife, Shanna, and son Davis (3). We enjoy visiting places around town together. I also really love to golf!

What’s a Fun Fact About Yourself?
When I was in high school, I spent a month studying on campus at Princeton for a program there. A very surreal experience to be away from home over the summer at the age of 16, but definitely a great experience I'll always remember!
What is Your Favorite Thing to Do in Louisville?
Louisville has so much to offer and I’ve loved being back here! My wife and I love the food scene in Louisville and enjoy trying new places and restaurants around town. A few of our favorites are breakfast at Blue Dog Bakery and Cafe, brunch at Village Anchor, take out at Nam Nam Café, and dinner at Mojito’s, but the list goes on and on. And who can beat a day at the races?! Churchill Downs has always been another favorite spot.
