This month's spotlight features Heather Nasri-Barrington, a key member of V-Soft's Human Resources department. Heather has been recognized as a Top Performer many times and is a shining example of many of V-Soft core values. We got to know Heather a little more - what she likes to do in her free time with her family and some of her hobbies.
Describe Your Role at V-Soft
I am an HR Specialist and have been with V-Soft 13 years. My primary focus is in HR but I also work with our immigration, finance, sales and recruiting teams as well as manage the Toronto office. I am located in our Canada office in Toronto and enjoy working on immigration. Coming from a family who immigrated to the US and then to Canada, I find joy in this venture.
What is something you’re proud to have accomplished at V-Soft?

I am proud to have built strong relationships internally at V-Soft, these connections have built the trust I have in my teammates as well as the trust of the organization. I'm also proud of being recognized as Operations top performer.
Any interesting stories in your line of work?
There are many interesting stories in my line of work, during the pandemic trying to balance work, internet issues and virtual calls has been the most interesting.
What Do You Enjoy Doing in Your Free Time?

I love spending time with my family! I have 3 children: Carter, 9; Shawn, 13; and Faith, who is 22 and I am celebrating my 10th wedding anniversary this month. We love to travel locally and experience the beauty Ontario has to offer. I also love coaching my kids' soccer teams, however since COVID-19 hit we have not been able to. I am an avid gardener we love growing our own food and try new crops every year. I am also a crafter - anything from making ornaments to resin castings, oh did I mention I love to bake?

What’s a Fun Fact About Yourself?
I was born in Michigan and moved to Canada when I was 6, I have been travelling back and forth to see my family ever since.
What is Your Favorite Thing to Do in Toronto?
Pre COVID-19 we loved going to the waterfront to see live bands, walk the boardwalk and eat at food truck alley. We still like to get out but these days we like to stay local and visit farmers markets and farms where we can pick our own fruits that I am not currently growing.
