Step-1: Retrieving Menu Data via API.

By utilizing UiPath, an RPA automation tool, we have configured the procedure to retrieve menu data in JSON format from the IF API. UiPath will retrieve the menu items, promotions, and any other necessary information from the API to accelerate the menu management automation process.

Later, the data will be deserialized into two key components, including à la carte items and promotions, to bring the JSON menu data in a structured format suitable for the further automation procedure.

Step-2: Processing À La Carte Items via CFC API

Now, to update the status, the CFC API will process the structured menu data. Using the UiPath automation tool, the deserialized JSON data, i.e., à la carte items, will be processed independently. Whether adding new menu items or modifying the existing menu list, this tool ensures that every menu item is correctly reflected in the system.

As soon as the menu list updates, the CFC desktop application will be launched, where UiPath sets default values for the newly created à la carte items. This guarantees that each menu item is available for usage instantly and without human involvement.

Step-3: Managing Promotions

Yes, UiPath transitions to managing promotions as soon as the default values have been assigned to each à la carte item. This includes both simple and complex combos that require precise attention to detail. Later, UiPath configures every combo for each promotion using the UI.

One of the key challenges here is the sheer number of touchpoints involved. For complex promotions, there are over 150 touchpoints that must be addressed by automation.

Step-4: Error Handling and Exception Management

We have implemented two major mechanisms, error handling and exception management, to detect and control bugs during the process execution. The bot is efficient in dealing with unknown bugs so that it never ignores any menu item or combo. This automation enables the solution to recover and continue running if any error hits while processing the management of menus.
