About Jared Mucciardi
Jared has been in the IT consulting industry since 2005. Despite being a Columbus native, Jared had also spent five years in New York. "It felt more like ten years," He joked. He also received a business degree with a focus on marketing and minor in communications from Ohio State.
He boasts a competitive desire, spending most of his time at the gym and playing sports like baseball. His driven nature makes him enjoy being in the sales industry, having been in sales for over a decade and still going strong.
Columbus, Ohio’s Staffing Issues
When asking Jared about the common pain points that he saw, he was quick to respond. “Columbus is definitely a candidate-driven market.” Said Jared, “When a client comes to me with an immediate need for, say, a .NET developer, it can take some patience.” He explained that a common issue he finds is that there are often more jobs than there are people to fill them. His suggestion to resolve this was for companies to consider dialing down their requirements a bit to include soft skills, or showing a prospective new hire how your company’s culture and environment are better than their current situation.
Another issue? “Our clients have ten times the options for choosing a company that provides consultants, so why wouldn’t they choose one that offers prices that can be ten to fifteen percent lower? It’s my responsibility to show them why working with us will give them the best bang for their buck.” What he wanted to drive home was the fact that when it comes to staffing companies, “you get what you pay for.”
The Enterprise's Needs are Changing
In the years since Jared has been in the IT staffing industry, he's noticed that the needs of his clients are shifting. Instead of companies needing people to fill positions in their IT departments, they are asking what we can do to take some work off of their hands. IT outsourcing has become huge in Columbus and the rest of the US.
Jared notes that the most common question that he receives is "Do you have the capability to outsource the projects we need versus providing on-site staffing?" The answer is a resounding yes. Solving Issues for Every Type of Business
Columbus is a hub for many household names, such as Designer Shoe Warehouse (DSW), Big Lots, Abercrombie & Fitch, and Victoria’s Secret. “Retail is huge here in Columbus,” Jared commented, “Another big one is insurance. Nationwide—a Fortune 100 company—practically runs the city. There are some major players here in the finance, insurance, and retail spaces.”
Despite the differences in each business, they all have one thing in common: they have some sort of technical need. Whether it be with staffing or solutions, V-Soft is able to provide the talent and experience for them to win.
“What’s unique about V-Soft is that we have a story to tell.” A strong sentiment from a strong salesman. “The reason I joined V-Soft is because it has the recruiting model and delivery model that works for our clients. That’s everything in this business.”
Jared was very optimistic about his new position. “Clients won’t keep coming to you if you don’t provide the right delivery and the right candidates. V-Soft doesn’t have that issue. Being able to tell my clients that and proving to them that we’re able to deliver what we say we can is important.”
