Welcome to our employee spotlight, where we highlight an awesome member of our family each month! This month, we are talking to Senior Account Manager Mike Hoffman. Mike is based out of our Chicago office and is a crucial part of the V-Soft team. When he's not helping V-Soft clients find the best of the best in IT Staffing and business solutions for their enterprises, Mike enjoys rooting for the Chicago Cubs and had an interesting experience with a rock star which you can read about below.
What is your experience? What brought you to V-Soft?
I’ve been in IT and IT staffing for over twenty years and have worked with the Palace Gate (now V-Soft Chicago family) for over four years. When Sally Martin started Palace Gate she called on me, but the timing wasn’t right. However, in 2012 we joined forces again and I am thankful to be a part of such a dedicated team and family.
What do you consider a fulfilling workday?
If I’m able to be in front of clients and help them understand the labor market for talent, and also help my peers in some way, that is a good day. The idea of finding jobs for talented people is always rewarding, inherently. It really is about being people first in staffing becuase finding a good candidate a great career with the right company helps so many people out at the same time. 
Where do you see yourself in five years?
In five years I imagine I would take on more leadership roles within the V-Soft family. I also would like to continue to stay close to the customer base here in Chicago as there are so many innovative businesses to serve and help out.
What is the best thing about V-Soft?
What I enjoy about V-Soft is the collaborative approach everyone has. It is very refreshing, not every company has that. V-Soft hires employees that truly want to help for the sake of helping their peers, and this is obvious in every interaction I have with a V-Soft family member. Everybody seems happy and to be truly enjoying working for a growing company.
Just as exciting is V-Soft's expanded IT services that include innovative platforms like ServiceNow, MuleSoft, and Mobile App Enterprise Development team. Our ability to staff and provide completed projects for these areas is very powerful to Chicago area businesses.
What do you like to do in your free time?
I’m a music junkie. I listen to music, watch movies, wrestle with my three kids. I mostly like rock music. I’m always into sports as well—I’m a big Chicago Cubs fan.
What is a fun fact about yourself?
A fun fact on me is I spent an afternoon hanging out with Eddie Vedder from Pearl Jam playing basketball. It was us and Eddie's friends, including members of the Red Hot Chili Peppers.
